A Vital Sign for Safety

Our MissionOur Mission

AHI is dedicated to improving patient safety.

Our Goal

To provide the information to clinicians that effectively and efficiently identify “at risk’ patients and facilitate fall prevention strategies to prevent falls in hospitalized patients.

The Hendrich II Fall Risk Model©

Referenced in the Institute of Medicine’s 2004 book and derived by Ann Hendrich from over 20 years of research, the Hendrich II Fall Risk Model© is used both nationally and internationally to identify patients at risk for falls. Use of this model in your institution also meets guidelines of agencies such as JCAHO and Magnet Status standards. Categories and side effects of medications that can contribute to an increased risk of falling are contained within the Risk Model (see our FAQ for additional information…).
